Blood drives are often in abundance on campus. Because they are regular occurrences, the meaning behind each blood drive is sometimes lost. On Thursday, the Student Nurses Association hoped to change that with their annual blood drive outside of the University Center.

The halls of the University Center were even more bustling than usual this week. Bargains filled the UC on Thursday, and they will continue through today.

The annual sidewalk sale allows the businesses in the UC to expand their sales floor into the hallways.

Welcoming new editor-in-chief

Christina Romero will be the editor-in-chief of the University of Northern Colorado's student newspaper, The Mirror, for the 2008-2009 school year. She will be succeeding Nate Taylor, who is graduating in May.

"The Mirror is the voice of the students," Romero said.

Book drive aides literacy

The Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society is teaming up with the Barnes and Noble bookstore to help end illiteracy through a book drive.
"This is an issue and problem that needs to be addressed," said Lyn Parker, the Mortar Board communications chair.

All year it has been brought to our attention that the University of Northern Colorado lacks tradition. Perhaps we haven't looked at the bigger picture. If you are willing to stay here until you graduate, then you have found some pride in being a Bear. Therefore, a tradition we should be proud of is holding an alma mater from UNC.

Baseball team hosts final home series

The University of Northern Colorado baseball team will conclude its home season this weekend with a series against fellow Division I Independent Texas-Pan American.

The Broncos come into the series with a 17-29 record on the season. The Bears are 15-30.
