Temple Grandin, a doctor of animal science and professor at Colorado State University, autism activist, best selling author and consultant on animal behavior visited UNC April 22 and gave a powerful presentation on what it is like to live with autism. Full story

University of Northern Colorado recognizes professor Kyle Anne Nelson

In 2012, UNC created the Award for Excellence in Social Science Engaged Research, and now in its second year, the award targets faculty at the university who display exemplary participation in civic and social engagement. This year, the award, including a $1,000 research grant, was given to Kyle Anne Nelson, an assistant professor of sociology. Full story

University recognizes Holocaust Observance with speaker

UNC welcomed Albert Garih, a Holocaust survivor, to campus Tuesday for Greeley’s 30th Annual Holocaust Memorial Observances week. Events during the month of April included Holocaust expert talks, observance services, a production of the play “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” and various documentary screenings. Full story

Information fair kicks off Earth Week

Earth Day was just the beginning of UNC students showing their commitment to the environment as Earth Week was celebrated at the university with a variety of events. The week’s festivities were kicked off on Monday with the “Learn Green” informational fair on the lower level of the University Center. Full story

The Mirror hires editorial staff for 2013-14 year

After interviewing interested candidates over the past two weeks, The Mirror has recently hired its editorial staff for the 2013-14 school year.

Alexander Armani-Munn, Michael Nowels, Nadia Pedroza and Ben Stivers were hired onto the editorial board, while current A&E editor Shimon Lidmark will retain her position.
