Do you consistently work to achieve objectives and work well in a team setting? Do you demonstrate leadership qualities while demonstrating time management?

If you fall into the category of being a leader in all that you pursue, while achieving objectives within a team atmosphere, you would be considered an "A" employee according to an executive newsletter published by Credit Union National Association, Inc.

To become an "A" employee in the future, students must concentrate on activities and experiences that are pursued today in order to be molded into the "perfect" candidate. Start now, by getting involved in clubs and organizations, to develop the skills that will help you succeed upon graduation.

Develop your energy and enthusiasm for projects while working on group presentations in a class, and develop your communication and time management skills while taking on leadership roles in a club or organization.

A good GPA will only get you so far. An employer wants to see what you have done beyond studying for an exam because when you get into practical, rather than academic, positions you will be forced to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences rather than a bubble sheet. It is imperative for students to step outside of their comfort zones and open up to interactions with a broad spectrum of individuals so they can be the best leader possible when it comes time to step into an interview.

At UNC, there are countless opportunities to begin developing yourself as the "A" employee that corporations and organizations around the world seek. In the residence halls on campus, you can explore opportunities in Community Council or RHA and Greek Life, social and professional, is a source of limitless possibilities of interaction and leadership growth. There are also more than 130 clubs and organizations on campus. Every student should be able to find a niche where he or she can develop as a student and as a leader.

To become an "A" employee, students at UNC should take advantage of the opportunities on campus that will prove to develop skills in communication, time management, teamwork, diligence, trust, leadership and all aspects of professionalism. In order to be the "best in the business" in the future, students must prove to be the best leaders of today.

To be the best leader of today, get involved, stay involved, set goals and objectives and achieve excellence. Get involved now so you can continue to succeed upon graduation.
