Bodyworker Daniel Garza gives last year's junior biology major Taira Enewold a massage during Spa Night in the Campus Recreation Center. This year's services will include massages, spinal evaluations and manicures. Spa Night will be Thursday.

Before the final push of the semester, students are encouraged to take time out to relax at Spa Night.

Spa Night is sponsored by Wellness Education and will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the lower group fitness room at the campus recreation center.

"We do this every semester before finals. It is a great way to destress before finals," said Kenna Ashley, a senior human services major and student program assistant.

Spa Night is designed to help students relieve final exam stress and to relax and rejuvenate.

"It is a great idea because it relieves tension. It is great to have something to do," said Sarah Van Iwarden, a sophomore elementary education major.

Many different vendors from around Greeley have donated their services for the evening.

"Massage therapy will be offered for five to 10 minutes, chiropractics will be there to offer spinal evaluations, spas from around Greeley will be offering facials and mini manicures and Mary Kay will be showing their new line of lotion," Ashley said.

Students will have entertainment while they are waiting for the vendor of their choice to become available.

"Games will be going on while they wait," Ashley said. "Also we will have raffle prizes that we will be raffling all night."

Snacks and refreshments will also be out for students to enjoy.

"Everything is free, you just have to be a UNC student," Ashley said.

Some students learned last year that the night provides a well-deserved break from studying.

"Last year it was really fun to go and take a break for a couple of hours while we did something fun," said Kelly Dale, a sophomore psychology major.
