Blood drives are often in abundance on campus. Because they are regular occurrences, the meaning behind each blood drive is sometimes lost. On Thursday, the Student Nurses Association hoped to change that with their annual blood drive outside of the University Center.
During this week of anxious preparation for upcoming finals, there isn't much more the University of Northern Colorado students could ask for than some stress relief. On Thursday night, the Wellness Education Program provided just that. Spa Night, which lasted from 6 p.
The halls of the University Center were even more bustling than usual this week. Bargains filled the UC on Thursday, and they will continue through today. The annual sidewalk sale allows the businesses in the UC to expand their sales floor into the hallways.
Christina Romero will be the editor-in-chief of the University of Northern Colorado's student newspaper, The Mirror, for the 2008-2009 school year. She will be succeeding Nate Taylor, who is graduating in May. "The Mirror is the voice of the students," Romero said.
The Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society is teaming up with the Barnes and Noble bookstore to help end illiteracy through a book drive. "This is an issue and problem that needs to be addressed," said Lyn Parker, the Mortar Board communications chair.
Cancer has affected many lives,and what some people who encounter the disease have in common is their fight against the ailment. Residents of Weld County are joining that fight by participating in Weld County's Relay For Life on June 6 at Island Grove Park.
