Recent films highlight new lows of holiday season

The winter holidays have inspired countless films, some great, others horrendous. The Mirror's film critics pick their favorite and least favorite yuletide offerings, respectively. On Tuesday afternoon, the Eagles of Centennial Elementary School filled the University Center Fireside Lounge with holiday music. All the children were presented in well-dressed clothes. They sang about peace, the winter weather and the holiday sounds of jingle bells.

Michener Library will be displaying works of art. The library's Mari Michener art gallery is the showcase for the art exhibit "Watercolor Divas!" through Dec. 19. Sponsored by Friends of the UNC Libraries, it has provided area female artists the chance to show their realist watercolor paintings since Nov.
