Information Management and Technology will update the process used to access the campus wireless networks on Thursday, Aug. 9.
The update will increase security and functionality and changes the steps used to connect to a campus wireless network.
One significant change is that one must now enter the password “UNCStudent” to access the UNC-STUDENT network; it cannot be connected to automatically without the password as it could previously. Students then must enter their own credentials and password to connect to the Internet while in the browser, which is the same process as before.
Similar steps are needed to connect to the other UNC networks. To see all of the new steps and how to connect to each network on a smartphone, go here.
