At the end of classes today, spring break will arrive. Here are some ideas for what to do with the week off:
Get some much-needed rest
After surviving midterms and the lack of sleep that comes with them, you've earned some relaxation time. Use the week to catch up on sleep, making sure you get eight hours or more every night. Sitting on the couch all day watching TV is also recommended.
Party
Spring break is well known as the week college students take to have a good time. Whether it be here or in locales more exotic, students have earned the privilege to be a little crazy for a week. Just remember to be safe and drink responsibly.
Take a trip home
Over the past two months, staying in touch with family can get lost among a student's priorities, even though it probably shouldn't. Spring break is a great opportunity to go home, see the parents and younger siblings and get back in touch with old friends.
Watch some basketball
Even though UNC won't be in the NCAA Tournament, there will still be 48 games over the course of four days that will provide a fair share of great plays, Cinderella teams and even the occasional buzzer beater. It's all the fun any sports fan, or anyone in an office pool, could ask for.
Look for a job
Whether you are a senior looking to begin a career after graduation in May or someone who just hasn't found a summer job, spring break provides a week to job hunt without the pesky distractions of classes and homework.
Volunteer
There are plenty of charitable organizations out there worthy of your vacation time. So, if you want to make a difference, there is always the option of using your spring break to help those who need it.
Whatever you decide to do, remember to have fun, be safe and be ready for that final stretch of classes before summer arrives.
