The UNC soccer team ended in a draw for a second time in two games after a 1-1 draw against Southern Utah Friday at Jackson Stadium.
The University of Northern Colorado (5-5-4, 3-1-2 Big Sky) held a steady lead against Big Sky foe, Southern Utah (1-9-2, 0-5-1), before the score was tied up with just under nine minutes left during game play, forcing two overtimes.
In the 52nd minute, sophomore forward Madison Yoswa gave the Bears a 1-0 upper-hand, scoring her third goal of the season.
The Bears dominated offensively throughout the game, shooting 22 shots to Southern Utah’s eight. Sophomore forward Juliana Grover led the Bears, taking four of the shots.
Senior goalkeeper Natalie D’Adamio had four saves and allowed only one ball past her — the tying goal in the 82nd minute.
Thunderbird senior forward Stacey Brinkman made the shot as time was winding down in the second half.
Both teams had two shots in the first overtime without a goal and the Bears had two shots on goal in the second overtime period, but the Bears were unable to get the winning goal between the posts.
The Bears host Northern Arizona (5-6-4, 3-1-2) for Senior Day noon Friday Sunday at Jackson Stadium.
