Football suffers Homecoming loss to Montana

After only trailing by 10 at halftime, the UNC football team let the game slip away in the second half of a 40-17 loss Saturday to Montana at Nottingham Field.
The University of Northern Colorado played the Grizzlies to a scoreless first quarter, but 10 points in the second put Montana ahead for good.
Bears senior wide receiver Dominic Gunn returned the opening kickoff of the second half 98 yards for a touchdown to cut the lead to 10-7. A 24-yard UNC field goal, sandwiched around two Montana touchdowns, put UNC in a 24-10 hole after three quarters.
The Grizzlies scored 16 points in the fourth and UNC’s final touchdown was a 24-yard score for Gunn with less than two minutes remaining.
The Bears fall to 1-4 overall this season and 0-2 in the Big Sky. Montana improves to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in conference.
