The UNC soccer team had its first Big Sky defeat against the reigning Big Sky Champions, Montana in a 1-0 loss Friday.

The University of Northern Colorado (5-5-2, 3-1) and the University of Montana (6-6-2, 2-2-1) had a rematch of last season’s semifinals, and the Bears saw the losing end once more.

Senior goalie Natalie D’Adamio allowed the first goal past her during Big Sky play during the 77th minute, which was kicked by Montana sophomore Allie Simone.

D’Adamio had three saves on the night and senior forward JJ Wykstra led the Bears with three shots, one of them on goal.

The Bears play again at noon Sunday at Eastern Washington before returning home Friday to host Southern Utah.
