The Kress Cinema and Lounge has been a Greeley favorite for locals and college students alike who enjoy going to a place where they can support their local businesses.
Located in downtown Greeley, the Kress has been a staple of the entertainment scene ever since they opened their doors in 2008. Owners Ron and Linda Thomson have operated the theater for 16 years.
The Kress Cinema differs from other movie theaters, on top of your normal concessions like soda and popcorn they also serve alcoholic beverages from cocktails, wine, or even a locally crafted beer from northern Colorado breweries. These all can be enjoyed either before or during the showing of the movie.
On top of movies, the Kress also offers a rental area where you can provide a fun time for your family, a group of friends, or a business holiday party with opportunities to rent out the entire theater and playing any movie you wish to watch with your party.
The cinema operates with a slight delay and won’t premier blockbusters immediately like other major theaters such as the Cinemark.
The Kress Cinema and Lounge especially cater to students and offers a deal for both University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College students. The offer is every Monday evening, and if you provide a student I.D., you get a ticket for whatever is showing that night. Some students find out what it is beforehand, while others go into the movie blind and enjoy their free mystery movie.

This week, the theater is playing two new movies that have recently come out, being “Challengers” and “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare."
