Dale Hall was voted in as mayor in the 2025 Greeley election according to unofficial election results.
The Greeley election occurs every two years. Voting ended at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4, with the votes being counted well into the night.
John Gates, the former mayor of Greeley, was unable to run for reelection because the city charter only allows up to four two-year terms for mayor.
This year's election only had two mayoral candidates, Hall and Tiffany Simmons. According to weld.gov at the time of publication, Hall won the unofficial election with 10,315 votes compared to Simmons 7,858 votes.
Hall has an extensive political career, serving in the U.S. Army, being a Colorado State Representative for House District 48 and aiding as a Greeley city council member for Ward IV for seven years. Hall has lived in Weld county his entire life and has over 30 years of experience as a financial advisor and 35 years as a property manager.
Hall decided to run for mayor in November of 2024, deciding that representing Greeley residents was his priority.
This year's election was particularly divisive for Greeley residents because of issues concerning the Cascadia project and the camping ban.
The Cascadia project is a part of the Greeley Westside Project. It is a proposal to develop approximately 300 acres of West Greeley into an entertainment district. The city council has received backlash from Greeley residents over the project due to it only being voted on by them.
Hall supports Cascadia, stating that it can provide a much needed economic boost to Greeley.
“Cascadia is probably the biggest misunderstood project I’ve ever remembered seeing," Hall said. “The Catalyst project is there for the purpose of economic development to help bring in additional jobs to the city… so that we can do other things throughout the city and help pay for the growth that we’ve got going.”
Additionally, the camping ban went into effect in June of 2025, and limits sleeping in cars and tents in public spaces. It limits the amount of outdoor storage of items on public property as well. The ban is part of a larger initiative to address public safety and health concerns. It directly affects homeless encampments and caused the dismantling of several within the city.
Many residents are unsatisfied with the ban, believing that Greeley does not provide enough support or resources for homeless people.
Hall also plans to continue providing support to the issue through affordable housing.
Prior to his campaign, Hall worked with city council to create solutions like Housing for All, which serves families of Greeley the opportunity to have homes regardless of financial class. He also helped secure funding for the United Way of Weld County Homeless Shelter in 2024. Hall wants to continue his work providing aid to homelessness as mayor.
Hall plans to work with first responders by providing extensive resources, support and training, so that public safety is ensured. Hall stated in his campaign that public safety is a top priority for the city and plans to continue the trust and communication between first responders and residents.
Hall will serve as mayor for the next two years. John Gates will pass the gavel to Hall on Nov. 18.
