For one weekend each year, the city of Greeley will trade its everyday routine for polka music, steins and the sights and sounds of Oktoberfest as Oktobrewfest brings in locals and visitors downtown.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how this one will be different from other Oktoberfests I’ve been to,” said Daniel Sturg, a third-year transfer student at the University of Northern Colorado.
The 54th annual Oktobrewfest will return to Lincoln Park on Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26. This brings two days of beer, music, food and fun to the heart of downtown.
The festival will open Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. and continue on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Through free admission, the community is encouraged to take the opportunity to experience the event and enjoy what Downtown Greeley has to offer.
“I went last year, but I wasn’t 21 yet, so it’ll be cool to try everything out with my friends,” said Leslie Mowry, a fourth-year UNC student.
Oktowbrewfest draws on the traditions and atmosphere of German fall festivals with a Northern Colorado spin from breweries, food vendors and live entertainment all from Greeley. These attractions aren’t limited to adults, there will also be family-friendly activities that are expected to pack Lincoln Park throughout the weekend.
For beer enthusiasts, the festival holds VIP Beer Tasting from participating breweries such as WeldWerks Brewing Co., Wiley Roots Brewing Co. and Crabtree Brewing Company. Tickets for the 2026 VIP tastings are currently being offered through Downtown Greeley.
“The beer we have up here is pretty good,” said Phillip Davis, a Greeley resident. “I’ve always liked that we have so many places that actually make it.”
However, the beer isn’t the only part of the attraction, and there is still plenty to do for those who are underage or have no interest in drinking. Oktobrewfest is an all-ages event, with activities designed to make the festival a memorable day for everybody. Visitors should expect a lively atmosphere when the park fills with the Greeley crowd.
The timing of the event also serves as a seasonal farewell to Greeley’s busy 2026 outdoor calendar. After a summer of concerts, events and the annual Greeley Stampede, Oktobrewfest gives people another reason to get together before the cold weather and snow arrives.
“I’m kinda sad that there won’t be anything else until next summer,” Mowry said. “Maybe they will put something together if winter is like how it was last year.”
The end of the season may be bittersweet, but Downtown Greeley organizers are excited to celebrate with their community. With free entry, a central downtown location and fun for adults and children alike, the festival is expected to turn Lincoln Park into a social hub for the weekend.
